Emotional Intelligence – How To Harness Emotion To Steer Your Business

Emotional Intelligence … while a common buzz phrase for some – is the “something” in each of us that is a bit intangible.

It affects how we manage behaviour, navigate social situations and make personal decisions to achieve positive (or sometimes negative) results.

In business you may have heard people say ‘take the emotion out of the business’ – but this is an impossible task …  emotions feed the energy of your patients and staff and the ‘vibe’ in your practice.

While LOGIC is the faculty we use to make us think, it is EMOTION that is the main driver for our actions.

… And, you need to acknowledge how both your team members AND your patients FEEL.

The Four Bucket Framework

  • SAD  => emotion of loss
  • MAD  => change
  • GLAD => improve or maintain
  • SCARED => safe or brave

Start to work with the Four Buckets Framework and before long, you begin responding to your staff, patients and relationships with emotional intelligence – without even having to think about it …
